Loss & Research
Life has been hard since Regatta passed away. I’m doing everything I can to keep busy, but it’s not the same when I come home and she’s not there, excited to greet me. The house feels desolately quiet.
I want to feel whole again, but the best I can do is to throw myself into school.
There has been an interesting opportunity for me to do some research at U of C. I’m going to be working with some of the monochrome sherds from the dig I worked at in Nicaragua. Though it pains me to do so, I’ll be cutting chunks off a sample of sherds, grind them up into a fine powder, and put them in a special machine that uses x-rays to analyze the composition of the sherds.
It’s pretty exciting, since I love research and lab work.
