Adventures in Taxis

This evening, Erin, Russ, Sean, and I went down to wander the Suq and relax after a long day. On the way home, we hailed a taxi and had no idea what we’d be in for.

Our driver was friendly, with a wicked sense of humour. He was so excited to be chauffeuring us for the evening. When he heard that Erin had never driven a standard before, he decided he would teach her. This lead to having her switch gears for him as he drove. It was decidedly uncoordinated. Erin couldn’t get the timing down and managed to put the car in reverse while we were driving forward. Thank goodness for failsafes that prevent that from really happening!

So much gear grinding.
